Waitemata Challenge.
~Upp er North Island~
Sunday 7 December 08, Westhaven Marina Boat Ramp. A time for a bit of a blow out on the water following completion of exams etc. A run, row and sail around the Waitemata Harbour.

This event is primerly for the Venturers, but competant scout crews are more than welcome to attend.
Can any groups who can assist with patrol boat duties please advise me.

All happening on the
Saturday 8th November 2008 from 2PM
Picnic, Flugtag & other activities during the day with Ngati Toa taking over for the Fireworks at around 8PM.
All Happening @ Ngati Toa's Den, Ngati Toa Domain (End of Pascoe Ave, Mana - Just over Paremata Bridge going North on SH1)
* Overnighters available if traveling or just want to stay, we might put up a few movies, stay up late talking round campfire, etc
* Ngati Toa Supplying Lifejackets
* Bring Lots of Fireworks to add to collection (~ box/ unit)

Please pass this message on to everyone you know who may be interested in the Venture.
Watch out for the National programmes that are due to be posted in the next week. In with the programmes will be the first poster about Venture. Please make sure it gets put up in to every Scout Hall, Venturer Room and Rover Den around the country. Early in the New Year we will be sending direct to all Venturer Units more promotional material and silicon wrist bands for every Venturer in the country. Keep an eye on the post.

The South Island Venturer’s Annual Convention is making a comeback with a weekend filledwith fun, frivolity and friendship (with a bit of seriousness thrown in too). Catch up with
mates, share ideas and have a laugh along the way. We want all of the Units in the South
Island to come on down (or up) and show the odd Northerner (yes they’re invited too) how
to have a good time.

Introducing the NZ Contingent Leader for the Australian Venture: Escape

Hello everyone
My name is Mark Godsiff. I’m the NZ Contingent Leader for the trip to the Australian Venture: Escape.
I may look old, but I’ve got the heart and mind of a 25 year old. Just ask my local Venturer Unit!
In Scouting, I achieved the Queen Scout Award at the age of 16.5 and over the years have attended a number of Jamborees and Ventures, two of which were overseas and the rest were local. At present, I’m the Regional Venturer Leader for the Lower South Island, and have been running our local unit in South Otago for the last 5 years.
My full time job is Youth Training for Agriculture New Zealand in Dunedin, where I conduct hands on tutorials in the farming sector.
I’m looking forward to meeting Venturers from different parts of NZ and hope to enjoy challenge of being the Escape NZ Contingent Leader. We have an awesome trip ahead of us, including a post-Venture tour.
If you are thinking of coming to Escape, welcome aboard the fun ship. You won’t regret it!
